Dark Spots (pigmented lesions)

PIGMENTED LESION TREATMENT

How we treat dark spots:

Sun is our best friend, but also our worst enemy when it comes to avoiding darkening skin spots. We use a Cynosure Elite laser to treat dark spots from sun damaged and aging skin. Melanin, the protein that gives our skin its pigment, is responsible for these dark spots. When there is an excess of melanin, dark spots develop. Light energy from the laser is absorbed by unwanted melanin in the pigmented lesions. Over the next few days the pigmented lesions will darken and fall off, leaving the surrounding skin undamaged.

What to expect

Pigmented lesions can be removed from the full-face using IPL or spot-treated with our Cynosure Elite. A consultation with one of our technicians will determine which choice is right for you. For this treatment, it is important that you are not tanned and continue to actively use sunscreen after the treatment. If hyperpigmentation and dark spots are a large area of concern for you, we have serums and other topical reccomendations that can help you keep dark spots at bay for longer.
